Mrs Emma Revell.  BVM&S, MSc (Wild Animal Health), MRCVS.  qualified from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, Edinburgh, seven years ago.  Her first job was in a very mixed general practice in Dolgellau, Wales, where her patients ranged from cows to cats, geese to raptors & wildfowl, & rabbits to small furies, she adds, there was even the odd bat or two!

Emma did volunteer work in quarantine export in South Africa, and worked at Chester Zoo before her Veterinary Degree & has pursued her interest in exotic animals by taking the MSc Wild Animal Health run by the Royal Zoological Society of London and The Royal Veterinary College, London.  She soon hopes to submit some of her MSc articles for publication. The first being her dissertation on the diet of pscittacines, specifically the importance of vitamin A and calcium in the popular parrot, the African Grey. Other articles include 'Dermatitis in a Sri Lankan Sloth Bear' and 'Investigations into the cause of death of Malayan Horned Frogs.  As a member of the British Veterinary Zoological Society and British Small Animal Veterinary Association, she regularly attends seminars and conferences organised by these groups.

Emma and her husband are currently a three cat household due to rescuing them all whilst in practice.  She has not had to work very hard on her husband, who now has now taken an interest in rescuing ferrets and a certain type of lizard which shall remain nameless so as to not show bias in any way!  Emma's husband believes they should leave bird rescue to Alan, Gail and Emma Kelf due to the cat presence.  However, Emma has met several lovely birds whilst working at the practice and is willing for any challenge!

Being an enthusiastic, diligent person who enjoys interacting with people as well as their pets, Emma likes to explain and involve the owner in their pets treatment.  She has always been committed to giving all animals the quality of care they deserve but is  now focussing on exotics and avians as they are increasingly becoming more popular domestic pets.
